Riverwalk Plaza Hotel

Lovely boutique property steps away from the Riverwalk. I just stayed here this weekend for a work conference. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Throughout my stay each member of the staff that I spoke to was warm and friendly. Special shout out to the kind vallets that greeted me so nicely and helped me with directions. Also be sure to see Denise at the Gavel for her smoked old fashion; It just might be the best old fashion that I’ve ever had. I look forward to staying at this property in the future.

Very very nice hotel and great experience overall. I booked 3 nights using Expedia (watch out as this can be risky!) and luckily everything went well. We arrived before the 4:00 pm check in time but still offered to keep our belongings before we got our rooms. The valet costs almost $40 for a whole day, which is a little pricey compared to the available parking lots and public spaces outside - definitely not as safe as keeping the car inside the hotel. The coffee at Niche is amazing (close to the lobby) and so is the bakery. The food at the Gavel (restaurant) is good for a quick breakfast/bite before walking around. Location is great, just steps from the river walk and super close to San Fernando Cathedral. Finally, the rooms are nice and for the price, excellent. When I thought having a pool close by was a problem, I found a white noise machine in the room that helped a lot - so overall, super recommended!

Beautiful quaint boutique feel hotel. First room had some leak issues in the room but the quickly moved me to another room. Location is great and convenient to many options. The valley guys were great! Thanks Leo for making my stay better. Didn't get to enjoy the hotel as much as I wanted since my coworker had her appendix rupture while we were there so I spent most of my time at the hospital but do look forward to staying here on another occasion if the need arises. Every day you get a text asking how your day is going....that was a nice touch.

From the valet service to check in and check out, we found the customer service to be friendly, helpful and very simple. The room was clean and quiet. The hotel was a block or so off Market street but an easy walk to any tourist area. We were attending an event at Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, a 15 minute walk for us. I would return to Riverwalk Plaza again.

Me and my bf had a good experience at this hotel. We were on the 4th floor. The room was clean, spacious, and did not have a bad odor. I was hesitant because of the bad reviews I read but I was pleasantly surprised. The location was fine, not as close to the rivercenter or tower of the Americas as I wanted but still on the riverwalk.

First off! update your "misleading" pictures of the room views to the river, the rooms seem clean but honestly just a high end motel 6(weed smokers at night). By service desk "we don't have maintenance on Sundays" and we can't provide you a floor fan due because the A/C was not working properly. Also why the sticky floor since the room is supposed to be clean?, no microwave in the room. TV from my grandmother's kitchen works better. It was pleasant stay but for 300 a room better check out other options. Don't get me started on parking 40.00 (yes you read it right) a night. Only cool thing ice machine and towels are changed occasionally.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Kate, the hotel manager, provided truly outstanding customer service. She assisted me with a situation and went above and beyond to ensure it was resolved smoothly and professionally. Her responsiveness, care, and attention to detail made a huge difference, and I genuinely felt valued as a guest. The hotel was very convenient to the Riverwalk and just far enough away from the main portion to avoid the crowds and noise from the street. The room was large and clean and the TV was large and worked well. Our room overlooked the pool and there was a lot of yelling from there until late. The hallway was also very noise until after 2AM . The room did come with a sound machine on the nightstand which was needed. The coffee shop was good. The Gavel Bar was a good place and Denise was a great bartender. The bathroom was adequate however it was old, out of date and water damaged along the floor. The pillows were the best in any hotel in years. The bed was horrible. The mattress was very hard and you could feel every spring. Maybe a mattress topper would help. The hotel system texted my many times to keep in touch during our stay. If the mattress was better it might warrant another star.
